Bio:

A civil engineer by training where I did projects in upgradation of the waste water treatment plant design of our institute and urban planning. During this time I worked shortly at the remote sensing division of the Water and drainage board in Tamil Nadu on GIS mapping of hotspots of water quality changes in the state. After a year's work experience as a groundwater modeler tackling projects in unsaturated modeling in FE FLOW and HYDRUS 2D at the Indian Institute of Science in close collaboration with Indo French cell for water sciences.I pursued European masters on an Erasmus Mundus scholarship on Water management and hydroinformatics a joint European degree from five leading universities in Europe. I also got valuable experience in storm water modeling using SWMM during my internship at Sieker GmBH (Berlin). Further we solved online collaborative flood modeling project in the collaborative projects Hydroeurope and Hydroweb where my responsibilities were to handle 1D hydraulic modeling in HECRAS and Mike 11. Masters thesis in collaboration with UNEP and UNESCO gave me opportunity to work on a wetland groundwater modeling project using MODFLOW at the Keoladeo National park (Rajasthan, India) to relate the groundwater drawdown due to agricultural withdrawal to the species fluctuation in the Ramsar wetland. Presently my research which is funded by the Marie curie FP7 programme is with a focus on Water quality from a river reach to a catchment scale in a Pre alpine catchment in Switzerland.
