I am a 47 year old water and wastewater consultant working under my own company Hydro Mechanical Systems Ltd ( I am currently working as Project Manager on a Netherlands Enterprise Agency part funded $7 million project on behalf of Vitens Evides International B.V.

The 4-year project is in Cebu, Philippines and the key objective is to connect 15,000 poor and very poor urban customers to the water company’s distribution network. Micro-financing will be introduced for the very poor (slum) areas making the water supply safe, reliable and affordable.
My degree: Civil and Structural Engineering B.Eng (Hons)
Other: Chartered Engineer (C.Eng); Chartered member of the Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM); Member of the International Association of Project Managers; and Advanced Certificate in Change Management.
I am experienced in working at all strata of an organisation from the site / field level to director and even ministerial level.
I have a well-rounded expertise of the end-to-end water and wastewater processes; from water abstraction to customer billing, from sewage collection to final effluent disposal and sludge treatment. I have also worked with Regulatory Authorities.

• Experienced in working for water companies (Anglian Water and Severn Trent Water), contractors and design consultancies
• UK and International Project Manager / Team Leader experience.
• Water and wastewater consultancy experience in UK, Vietnam, Egypt, Seychelles, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Mauritius and the Middle East.
• Water and wastewater asset management, including operation, maintenance and capital investment.
• Successful technical and commercial author of water and wastewater tenders, proposals, reports, business strategies, transition plans and performance indicators
• Expert in reducing NRW: establishing DMAs, working with network models, water balance, step-testing, leak surveys, pressure management, meter calibration and replacement, equipment selection and training, reducing billing and data handling errors
• Tariff studies for Seychelles and Bangkok, including the socio-economic implications.
• Water and wastewater regulatory consultancy including KPIs and Levels of Service.
• Delivered technical presentation on ‘Innovative Methods for Managing Water Loss and Reducing Water Demand’ at the Saudi WEPower 2010 conference.
• Pivotal role in delivering a £1 billion, 25-year operating, maintenance and capital investment company providing water and wastewater services to the UK Ministry of Defence.
• Capacity building, institutional strengthening, Emergency Planning and Water Safety Plans
• Auditing and due diligence of operational and financial practices.
• Author and 5-day trainer of the Certified International Change Manager course for the Business Management Training Group (
• Change management / management consultancy on projects valued up to £3 million.
• Client engagement at executive director and board level.
