Bio: Mr. Anil Dinkar Mohile is a graduate of Civil Engineering  from the University of Bombay and a Post Graduate in Water Resources Development from the Roorkee University (Now IIT, Roorkee). He worked for a short time for the Government of Maharashtra, and for most time for the Government of India. He initiated the use of modern tools in empirical- statistical hydrology, as also operational mathematical tools for water system planning, in the late 1970s, in India. He occupied various posts like Director, Chief Engineer, and Member of Central Water Commission, Director General of National Water Development Authority, Chairman of the Bramhaputra Board, etc. In 2000, he retired as the Chairman of Central Water Commission and ex-officio Secretary to Government of India. After retirement he has been working as a Consultant, and has worked for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage, International Water Management Institute, Government of India, State Governments of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Orissa, etc., as well as for leading Consultants like WAPCOS, Mott McDonald, SNC Lavlin, etc. He also works as an Arbitrator. He is professionally active and worked as President of the Indian Association of Hydrologist, Vice President of the Indian Water Resources Society, etc. He has authored a large number of papers. His main specializations are Hydrology, Water Planning and Assessment, Water Policy and Water Conflict Resolution.
