River Restoration

An overview of the Global isotopic composition in rivers

Description:

A  global coordinated project was conducted by the IAEA (International Atomic energy agency) between 2002-2006 to monitor and create a global network of isotopes in rivers. The stable isotopes of water are useful tracers to find the sources of water to differentiate it from precipitation or runoff water and to estimate the seasonal changes in run off patterns. This document gives and overview of these changes across various river basins in the world.
