Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) is planning to develop a string of new independent water projects (IWP) across several locations in the country

The company is planning to set up water desalination schemes at Khasab in Musandam Governorates and Duqm in Wusta Governorates.

Several modest size water projects are also being planned in the Sharqiyah and Dhofar Governorates, according to Oman Observer.

OPWP is also planning to build Musandam IWP at Khasab, which can process approximately 13,000m³ of water per day.

US based utility Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) has selected India based information technology company Wipro as its partner to improve its CRM, Billing and Service Bureau operations

At present, GCWW serves more than one million people across the US states of Ohio and Kentucky supplying 133 million gallons of water per day.

According to the terms of the deal, Wipro will be designing, constructing, hosting and deploying a Customer Information System (CIS) for the water utility in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) model.
