Graduated as an engineer in chemistry from the National Graduate School of Engineering Chemistry of Lille (ENSCL, France) in 2010, I decided after a year experience in the research and development department of the cosmetics company L'Oréal to start a research project in the field of contaminated sites. I am now carrying out a PhD thesis at the University of Neuchâtel, in the hydrochemistry group of the Centre for Hydrogeology and Geothermics (CHYN) lead by Prof. Daniel Hunkeler, where I study the benefits of dual C-Cl isotopic analysis in chlorinated ethenes for source identification purposes and the characterisation of biodegradation. As a fellow of the Advocate project funded by the EU (Marie Curie ITN project), I have the great opportunity to be in contact with regulators and practitionners from the field of site contamination, thanks, among others, to the secondment I am carrying out at the Federal Office for the Environment (Bern, Switzerland). The training opportunities offered by the Advocate network allowed me to develop and strengthen my knowledge in the field of groundwater contamination and remediation which I look forward to applying in case studies in the near future.
