Microbial Risk Assessment Guideline

This Microbial Risk Assessment (MRA) guideline is written by microbial riskassessors at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service(FSIS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It serves as a resource forthese agencies, their agents, contractors, and stakeholders. Other Federal agenciesexpressed interest in the development of this guideline and provided experts to participatein this interagency effort (see list of participants). The working group followed theOffice of Management and Budget’s (OMB’s) Good Guidance Practices whiledeveloping this guideline (OMB, 2007a).
