Events scheduled for December 2010

The Alabama-Mississippi Bays & Bayous Symposium is a bi-annual event held alternately in Mississippi and Alabama to provide an opportunity for the community to learn about the state of our coastal environment.

The Legal Program is an integral part of the
Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium’s
outreach efforts. Working with extension
agents at Mississippi State University Coastal
Research and Extension Center and Auburn
University Marine Extension and Research
Center, Legal Program attorneys provide information
on the laws, regulations and policies
governing the use of the Gulf of Mexico coastal
areas and resources.

Established in 2002, the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) aims to give recognition to the efforts that scientists, inventors, and organizations are making in water-related fields, and to acknowledge exceptional and innovative scientific work which contributes to the sustainable availability of potable water and the alleviation of water scarcity throughout the world. 

The Arab Water Week provides an opportunity to enhance communication flows, synergies and the sharing of successful experiences. It will also facilitate creating new partnerships that complement and maximize the impact of on-going work in this sector for the benefit all countries in the region.

This event marks the end of the first phase of the ISARM Programme and the start of its second phase and aims to look forward to the challenges and new directions required for the sustainable development and management of transboundary aquifers.

WAC 2010 is being organized on “Emerging Technologies in the Water Sector- Present Status and Need for the Future”.It aims to facilitate the development and application of advanced technology for solving various issues of water sector.
