PFOA Public Consultation Launches

December 18, 2014

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has launched a public consultation on the proposed restriction of Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related substances, following a report proposing a restriction on their manufacturing, use and placing on the market.

These elements are used in a large range of industrial applications and consumer goods, such as in fluoropolymer and fluoroelastomer production, the photographic industry, textiles and leather, paper and cardboard (including in food packaging) and in insulators for electric wires.

Comments are invited until June 17, 2015. (Worldwide)
