Can GIS be helpful in assessing the water quality of ground water?

I want to do some water quality assessment. I did physico-chemical  analysis of some groundwater samples around my study area. Would GIS be useful for me in assessing the water quality of the stations chosen?

GIS could help to make generalizations of your area for example, as an interpolation tool.
Also, it will help you to order your data, visualize the patterns etc.
